Privacy Policy
Last updated 28 July 2026
OneKampas processes personal data about students and placement staff. This page explains what is collected, why, who else touches it, and what rights you have over it.
Who this policy covers
This policy is published by the company that operates OneKampas (“OneKampas”, “we”). It covers two different relationships, and the distinction matters:
- Visitors to this website. We decide what is collected here and why, so we are the data fiduciary for it.
- Students and staff of an institution using OneKampas. Your college or university decides what data goes into the platform and what happens to it. The institution is the data fiduciary; OneKampas acts as a data processor on its instructions. If you are a student, your institution's own privacy notice governs, and requests about your data should normally start with your placement cell.
What we collect on this website
Only what you type into the demo-request form: your name, work email, phone number, institution, your role, and an approximate student count. We use it to respond to your enquiry and to prepare a proposal. We do not sell it, and we do not use it for advertising.
The site runs no analytics, advertising or third-party tracking cookies. If that changes, this page will be updated before the change ships, and consent will be requested where the law requires it.
What the platform processes
When an institution runs OneKampas, the platform processes the following categories of personal data about its students and staff, on that institution's instructions:
- Identity and contact data — name, roll number, institutional and personal email, phone number, date of birth, address.
- Academic records — course, branch, specialisation, batch, semester results, CGPA, 10th and 12th percentages, backlogs and education gaps.
- Career profile — resumes uploaded or built in the platform, skills, projects, certifications, career preferences and target roles.
- Placement activity — drive applications, round progress, interview outcomes, offers and package details.
- Assessment data — answers submitted, code written, scores, per-topic analysis and the resulting employability index.
- Proctoring data, including biometric-adjacent data. To keep assessment results trustworthy the platform captures a photograph of the student's face at the start of an attempt, records audio of spoken answers in the communication and interview tracks, and logs integrity signals during the attempt — tab switches, fullscreen exits, whether a face or a phone is detected in frame, and connected-display changes. A pre-test system check records the presence and status of the camera, microphone, browser and network.
Face detection and phone detection run on the student's own device; what is stored is the resulting event, not a continuous video recording. The platform does not perform facial recognition against any external database.
Why each category is processed
- Identity, academic and career data — to determine eligibility for a drive, present a student to recruiters, and record placement outcomes.
- Assessment data — to score an attempt, generate the student's report, and give the placement cell a view of cohort readiness.
- Proctoring data — solely to compute an integrity score for that attempt and to allow the institution to review a disputed result.
- Account and device data — to secure the account, manage sessions and investigate misuse.
Who else processes the data
OneKampas uses the following sub-processors. Each receives only what is needed for its function.
- DigitalOcean — application hosting, database hosting and object storage for resumes, documents and proctoring images.
- OpenRouter — routes assessment generation and analysis requests to large language models. Receives the assessment content and the student's stated career objective, branch, skills and projects.
- Groq — speech-to-text transcription of spoken answers in the communication and AI interview tracks. Receives the audio recording.
- Zoho — delivery of transactional email such as invitations, notifications and password resets.
Code submitted in the coding track is executed on infrastructure we operate ourselves, not sent to a third-party execution service.
This list is kept current. If a sub-processor changes, we update it here and inform institutions under contract.
Retention
How long each category is kept is set out in the agreement with your institution, and placement records are generally retained for as long as the institution needs them for accreditation and historical reporting. If you are a student, your placement cell can tell you what applies to you.
When an institution's contract ends, its data is handled as that contract specifies.
Students under 18
Some students on the platform may be minors. Where that is the case, the institution is responsible for obtaining verifiable consent from a parent or lawful guardian before onboarding the student, and for ensuring its own notice reflects this. OneKampas does not knowingly collect data directly from a minor outside of an institution's instruction.
Your rights
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, a data principal has the right to access a summary of their personal data and how it is processed, to have inaccurate data corrected, to have data erased where it is no longer required, to nominate another individual to exercise these rights, and to a grievance redressal mechanism.
If your data is on the platform through your institution, raise the request with your placement cell first — they control the record and can act on it directly. If they cannot resolve it, contact us and we will support them.
Raising a grievance
If you have a concern about how your personal data has been handled, write to contact@onekampas.com and we will acknowledge and investigate it.
How we protect it
Access controls, encryption in transit, private object storage and session management are described on our security page.
Changes and contact
We will post any change to this policy on this page and update the date at the top. For anything about this policy, write to contact@onekampas.com.
